Accessories, Accessories, Accessories!

One of my top five rules in fashion is that basics are key. Solid colored, plain basics can go from boring to fabulous depending on the accessories that you add! Today's OOTD is made fabulous by a few little accessories, my favorite ones in fact. Let me know which one's your favorite!
Sunglasses are my favorite accessory by far. I love using them to keep my hair out of my face and to give my hair a little extra volume when it's looking flat. They're obviously also extremely handy on bright, sunny days! If you want to add a pop of color in your outfit, try adding in some colorful sunglasses. If you're like me, keep them the same color as the rest of your accessories for a put-together look.
Scarves are so underrated. I stole this one from my mother's closet (thanks mom) and I've been loving it lately. It gives me vintage vibes! It's also a perfect size for a delicate touch. If you never really know how to pull off scarves, try small ones like this one first. The bigger the scarf, the more intimidating it can be. I simply draped it over my shoulder, but you can always tie it in a knot for more security.
Last but not least, shoes! These are also borrowed from my lovely mother, but are these not the cutest sandals ever? The orange compliments the green so well and they're super comfortable and great for spring. They also add a perfect pop of color to an otherwise monochromatic look. While you might not think it at first, shoes are definitely an accessory, and often they tie the whole look together. This pair is definitely the most memorable part of my outfit.
Basics and accessories go hand in hand like peanut butter and jelly. Remember that dressing something up or dressing it down usually lies in the accessories that you choose.
